With Overseas Korean (F-4) you can do most work, but simple manual labor, work that goes against good morals or public order, and jobs set by the Minister of Justice are restricted. From February 12, 2026, 10 of the restricted jobs were lifted.
📌 Key points
The 10 jobs lifted: simple construction worker · simple mining worker · simple loading and unloading worker · other simple loading and unloading worker · manual packer · manual labeler · gas station attendant · store stocker · vending machine manager · parking attendant. The other restricted jobs (delivery worker · cleaner · building caretaker, and so on) stay the same, and job names were changed to match the revision of the Korean Standard Classification of Occupations.
📍 Where to go
Local immigration office (출입국·외국인관서) · Foreigner Comprehensive Information Center 1345
⚠️ Things to watch out for
A person recognized by the Minister of Justice as living in, or wanting to work in, a population-decline area is exempted from the simple manual labor restriction (Immigration Act Enforcement Decree Article 23 paragraph 3 item 1). If you are not sure whether your job is a restricted job, take the job name to the local immigration office (출입국·외국인관서) or call 1345 and ask. The job codes and names are in the attached table of the notice.
