About I-EUM
I-EUM — Connecting You and Korea
A guide to living in Korea and naturalization preparation for foreigners living in Korea
Why we made it
Foreigners living in Korea have to look through many separate Korean-language government websites for things that cause trouble if you miss them, such as extending your stay, reporting your address, taxes and health insurance, and where to get documents. I-EUM was made to gather these in one place and show them in easy words and in many languages, so you can read them even if Korean is not your first language.
What it does
| I-EUM Today | See things with deadlines, such as length of stay, reports and taxes, in one place |
|---|---|
| Living in Korea | Procedures such as alien registration and extending your stay, taxes and insurance fees, and where to get documents |
| Welfare | Find welfare services, family centers and nationality offices |
| My visa stages | The path from your current status to the next one, and its requirements |
| Naturalization preparation | Naturalization documents, naturalization interview practice (procedure · reading · Q&A · national anthem), and Social Integration Program (KIIP) final assessment practice |
| Ieumi | Ask what you want to know in your own words, and it takes you to the right guide and the original text of the law |
| Community | A place to ask and answer people who have been through it before — posts offering to handle things for money are blocked |
Where the guidance comes from
- Government sources come first. We take material published by public bodies, such as laws from the Ministry of Government Legislation (법제처), the Ministry of Justice · immigration · HiKorea (하이코리아), Bokjiro (복지로) and the Public Data Portal (공공데이터포털), show it as it is, and tell you when it changes.
- For each item we also write the source and the date we checked.
- The naturalization interview practice was made by checking how the real interview is run with a person who has experience with it. However, our scoring is not the real exam.
What I-EUM does not do
- It is not a government body. It has not received certification or approval from any agency.
- It does not act on your behalf. It does not apply for visas, apply for naturalization, or register for exams for you. You apply yourself, directly to the office in charge.
- It is not legal advice. To find out whether permission will be granted in your case, please ask the Korea Immigration Contact Center (외국인종합안내센터) (☎ 1345) or your local immigration office.
